Zoo

Turn low-cost minions into a lasting board lead and hero damage. Learn how Zoo decks use trades, buffs, and draw while saving a way to rebuild.

Zoo is a low-cost minion deck. Players often link it with Warlock, but other classes can use the same idea.

The goal is a lasting board lead that becomes hero damage. It does not mean every attack must go face.

Make small minions count

Plan early minions that help later trades or buffs. A trade that leaves your minion alive may protect more future damage than hitting the hero now.

But once the enemy is in finishing range, more trades can waste your lead. Recount how soon you can win after each draw or big board change.

Draw should help you build the next board. It is useful if you can spare the mana and any Health cost. It is risky if the enemy can already kill you.

Draw before optional plays when the new card may improve your turn. Still leave hand space and make needed board plays in time. Small minions can also fill spaces that a better summon needs.

Strengths and weak spots

Zoo pressures slow setups and makes large one-target answers less useful. Area clears, repeated healing, and hard-to-trade boards can stop it.

Make enough threats to force an answer, but save a way to rebuild. Check whether a buff helps a minion make lasting trades or only makes it larger before removal. Many useful trades matter more than a large hand alone.

To plan card roles and curve, count useful early minions, buffs, and ways to make another board.
