Violet Hold mechanics: Prepare and rule-changing families
Prepare can make a later play cheaper. Other Violet Hold cards trade gifts, pass effects, or change normal rules.
Bribe
A strong or cheap effect that gives the enemy something in return.
Disguised minion
A minion whose text lets you choose which side of the board it joins.
Follow card / Follow chain
A name used for some spells in Patch 36.4. The spell takes effect, then passes its effect to an allowed, playable card in hand for that turn. Later plays can pass it on again. Follow is not a bold keyword.
Prepare
Drag the card onto your deck. Spend all your Mana left this turn to lower its cost by that amount plus one. It goes straight back to your hand to play later.
Rulebreaker
A card whose text changes a normal rule. It might change class access, deck size, copy limits, or maximum Mana.
Look at what you give up
Prepare spends Mana now for a cheaper card later. Compare it with a minion or answer you could use now.
Check both boards before using a Disguised minion. Think about what happens if you give it to the enemy.
A Bribe's gift to the enemy is part of its cost. For a Follow chain, map which cards can receive the effect before you act. For a Rulebreaker, use that card's exact text. The label does not give every card the same power.
